Mission Statement
The Siren, the online literary magazine of Notre Dame de Sion High School, is a unique forum in which members of the Sion community can explore and share their creative talents. Contributors may use an expanded definition of 'literary' as they express themselves through writing, visual art, photography, video or audio submissions, or other media. The Siren seeks to foster creative self-expression in members of the student body and the faculty and staff, and any creative work that expresses the ideas or thoughts of a member of the Sion community will be considered to have merit.
Beyond their creative merit, submissions will be considered for their adherence to the Notre Dame de Sion mission statement and honor code, as well as general rules of appropriateness and respect as determined by the editing staff. The Siren is not a static publication but is constantly in motion, adding new content and changing to match the progression of technology. By consciously affecting this change, the staff of The Siren hopes to create a publication that is not only entertaining to read and view but offers a way for contributors to take advantage of the opportunities created by use of technology.
