Science Department Late Policy

All projects are announced wll in advance of the due date.  No late work will be accepted for full credit.  For each day late, 25% will be taken off the final score.  If not hnded in within 3 days of the due date, no credit will be given.  Assignments are designed to help you understand current concepts, no as busy work.  If you do not complete assignments, it becomes difficult for you not only to comprehend current concepts, but impairs you ability to grasp future concepts.  Projects give the teacher additional methods to evaluate your unerstanding of the material in addition to (or rather than) regular tests.

The assignment/project is to be printed PRIOR to the start of class.  If you need a printer, the computer lab is open early every morning.  Computer problems--disk issues, ran out of ink, computer virus--are not an excuse.  You have had sufficient warning of upcoming assignments and projects.  If you choose to wait until the last minute and a problem occurs, then "a lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine."

A student who misses class prior to a test but is present on the day of a test is expected to take the test on the day of returning to class.  If a student misses a review day for the test but is present on the day of the test, the student is expected to take the test on the regularly scheduled day.
