Weekly Media Assignment

Each week, you will need to spend time outside of the classroom exposing yourself to the Spanish language.  Each student will be responsible for spending abut 20-30 minutes/week exploring a form of Spanish Media and handing in a short summary about it at the end of each week.

Some examples of Spanish Media could be:

• Watch a 30 minute show on the Spanish channel.
• Read an article in KC Spanish Newspaper online (www.dosmundos.com)
• Download a Spanish Pop Artists album and listen to a few songs.
• Go to the library and read an article from one of the Spanish magazines (there are a couple in there.   Mrs. Geldof can help you find them).
• If you have the capability to change the language on your TV, change it to Spanish and watch one of your favorite TV shows.
• Watch part of a movie from your DVD collection using the Spanish language option.

Type or write a short paragraph (3-4 sentences), in English, about the Spanish Media you explored.  I know you will obviously not understand everything that is said/written/etc, but try to infer what it may have been about.  Include and words/phrases that you recognized or things that you may have picked up on.  Homework completion points will be given for this assignment each week and no late summaries will be accepted.
