Analysis and Proposal Guidelines:

ANALYSIS:

Content:

·        Discuss the underlying causes of the social justice issue you are going to address.  Discuss why there is a need in our community for you to take a leadership role in this particular area of service.  Analyze this history of this issue and our cultural climate, trying to understand the root causes of this social issue. In this paper you are trying to understand the reality of those you are going to serve. Inorder to learn from others you must humble yourself  and be open to what they might bring you, to listen to them, their perspective and stories. This is the beginning of that process for you. For example, it you are going to work in a domestic violence shelter, it shows respect and affirmation for the dignity of the people you will meet there that you bothered to learn about their circumstances before you visited.

·        Use 3 outside sources to deepen your understanding of the social issue you are addressing: agency conversations, interviews with staff or supervisors, materials printed by an agency, research into historical causes or current events affecting this issue.
