Tutoring and Test Preparation

If you need tutoring in a specific subject:
The best place to start is with a National Honor Society (NHS) tutor. All you have to do is sign up on the NHS board in the commons and a current junior or senior will contact you to get started. This is a free service for you!

For help in math: visit the Math Lab in room 208, Monday through Wednesday after school from 3:00 to 3:30pm. Individual tutoring is not always available in this setting based on how many students attend; however, it can be a great place to ask a quick question or briefly review a concept for a test the next day.

If you find you need more intensive tutoring, the counselors have a list of professional tutors that we can recommend based on subject area.

SAT Online Prep (www.collegeboard.com) - FREE test prep materials, including sample tests and online scoring.

Personal Test Prep (www.PersonalTestPrep.com) - courses at the KU Edwards Campus and offers sets of 10 lessons each for ACT and SAT. Cost is $350.00 per course.

College PowerPrep (www.powerprep.com) - call 913-451-8552 or visit their web site. Courses offered primarily online, but they also have one-day intensive workshop prep for the PSAT, SAT, and ACT. Cost varies depending on length of class.

Kaplan Test Prep (www.kaptest.com) - call 1-888-KAPTEST or log on to their web site for upcoming schedule. Kaplan also offers seminars for parents on College Admissions and Financial Aid.
