~French Club~
The Club provides an opportunity outside of the classroom to learn about the culture of French-speaking countires.



Membership Requirements: Anyone who is taking or has taken French is invited to participate in the activities. Regular attendance is required to be considered a member in good standing. Some excuses are accepted due to involvement in sports.

Activities: Games, songs, films, food tasting. We will have joint activities with the Rockhurst French Club. Other Activities include making of decorations for various celebrations and holidays. The club sponsors the celebration of National French Day

When: The Club meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month right after school in Mme Marshall's room. During the legnth of the club's meeting, students will possibly indulge in knowledgable French conversation,  eat authentic French cuisine, and they might even watch a French film.

Below are some well known French hot spots that you might have the opportunity to visit on this summer's European vacation!


Laduree is the French fix for your sweet tooth! With their renowned macaroons, which come in various colors and flavors, visiting one of the many beautiful shops is a must!  You can stop in for a delightful cup  of coffee or sit down to a  heavenly pastry.



This castle is the magnificent Chateau Chenoneau. Once home to France's finest women. Because of its many female guests, it was nicknamed the "Women's castle". With its lavish gardens and beautiful riverside setting, I have to say this is definitely worth visiting next time you're in France.

This is the famous Chanel House located right in the heart of Paris. This Loft was the working place of the forever-loved Coco Chanel. The Chanel House is the main headquarters for the Chanel fashion industry.


This fairytale cottage was the home to the French impressionist Claude Monet. It was here that he got his inspiration for his famous water lily paintings. The estate is in Giverny and you can take a tour of the house and all the beautiful gardens.
