After-school Service Opportunities

After-school service opportunites are open to all Sion students. Listen to the announcements and watch the service board (across from the campus ministry office) to find out what upcoming service opportunities are available. You can also sign up to receive weekly emails from Mrs. Hull to find out about Sion service opportunites, as well as others (sign up by emailing Mrs. Hull jhull@ndsion.edu).

Join us any week or every week! Just sign up and get a permission slip. Turn these in to Ms. McDermott. Spots are filled up as permission slips are received. We provide transportation to and from Sion.

Please note: Once you have turned in a permission slip, you have committed to volunteering for that opportunity. If you can no longer attend, you must cancel with Ms. McDermott at least 48 hours before departure, otherwise a pink slip will be issued. This enables us to adequately plan for transportation, find students to fill any open spots, and keep our commitments to the local organizations that need our help.

Our regular service opportunities include: playing with kids at Operation Breakthrough, tutoring children at the Upper Room, baking and serving cookies at KC Hospice House, and cooking and serving dinner at Holy Family House. We also go to other sites during the year.

We will advertise special opportunites for Mother-Daughter Service Day, Father-Daughter Service Day, and Faculty-Student Service Day.

See Ms. McDermott in the Religion/Service Learning Office with questions or email her at mmcdermott@ndsion.edu.
